Virtual Notary Services

If you've never had anything notarized on video, it's simpler than it sounds. My Virtual Notary Services happen on a live, recorded call. You can see and hear me, I check your ID, and I watch you sign. I'm Javid Owji, a commissioned Florida notary, and I walk first-timers through it every week.

Ten minutes of setup saves most of the trouble I see on video calls. You need a phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone, and a steady connection. Wi-Fi at home beats a weak hotspot in a parking lot. Put light in front of you, not a bright window behind you. Have your current government photo ID plus a second one nearby, the PDF you're signing (uploaded ahead of time if you can), and the email address where you want the finished file. Find somewhere you can sit still, because you can't be driving. Upload your documents, and we sign them electronically. No ink pen needed.

Most sessions include a short set of identity questions drawn from public and credit records, such as which of these streets you've lived on. They take a minute or two, and they exist to stop someone from notarizing in your name. If the questions trip you up, call me before you try again. Platforms limit how many attempts you get, and a recent move or a thin credit file can make the questions harder.

If something goes wrong, we fix it. When the connection drops, rejoin from the same link, and if it keeps dropping, we stop and reschedule rather than rush. If the camera can't read your ID, tilt it away from the light or use your second one. If you spot a mistake in the document, say so before you sign and I'll pause so you can get a corrected page. And if you feel rushed or unsure, tell me. I'd rather take ten more minutes than have you sign something you don't understand.

People book video sessions for plenty of reasons. Sellers who have already relocated and borrowers on a work trip sign from a hotel desk, and when the file is a Remote Notary Services, I review the whole package first. Caregivers and patients, or someone signing from a hospital bed, can't always get to an office. Video removes the drive, not the care. Two siblings in two cities can join the same session from their own devices, and each person shows ID and signs their own part.

You may want to know who is on the other end. It's me: Online Notary Public registered to notarize over video, and you can look up my commission before the session. I schedule the call, I'm the notary on camera, and I answer the phone afterward if your lender has a question. Not every document can go on video. Online Document Notarization, such as a VIN inspection, or a file whose recipient insists on wet ink. Ask the recipient first, and I'll tell you too. Witnesses are another place to plan ahead. Every signer needs their own camera time and ID check, even when sitting side by side, and Florida has specific rules for witnesses who join by video. Those rules matter most for Notarizing a Power of Attorney in Florida, wills and some estate papers. If the law requires witnesses to be physically present, I'll tell you, and we'll plan the session around it.
